Ben and Winslow watched a shooting star scream earthward last week, and now Winslow’s actually found the damn thing. But, like all of history’s greatest thinkers, Winslow has questions. Where did this magnificent, still-smoking piece of space debris actually come from? The answer will no doubt shock you.
Okay, some more process notes: I write scripts for all of my strips. Since I draw my comics on standard-sized sheets of paper, I usually only have room for a maximum of eight panels (or “panels”). That means I have to carefully figure out what the dialogue is going to be so I can space everything out properly. This time around, I wrote two scripts without realizing it: one that ended with today’s joke, and one that ended with next week’s joke. I wanted to combine the two scripts into one, but I had already maxed out the panel count. So I removed this joke, put it into it’s own, shorter strip, and left the other one alone.
See, you guys think comics are all fun and games, but this stuff actually takes time and planning. That’s why none of you should get into the comic strip thing. It’s too much work. So just sit back and enjoy my comics instead.
