Contest time!

“But wait, AK! Didn’t you just have a contest?” I hear you cry. Well, yes, yes I did. And it was a lot of fun, and everyone submitted fantastic stuff. The winners should expect to see their prize drawings trickling in next weekend.

This next contest is a costume contest. Halloween is right around the corner, right? I’ve done costume contests before, but this one is a little different. While all of my contests have revolved around characters from my own comics, this one gives you the opportunity to recreate whoever the hell you want.

It's cosplay time! Take a character. Any character. It can be someone from comics, literature, television, movies, video games, etc. It can be one of your own original characters. It could even be you if you felt like going that route.

Now dress that character up as one of my characters. It doesn’t matter which one(s) you choose; take a look through my gallery and take your pick. Just be sure to follow the all-important rules:

The (All-important) Rules!

1- You may choose to draw any character(s) you want, including your own original characters.

2- Whoever you choose, they must be dressed as one of my characters. Think cosplay. Be creative; however, the judges and I have to be able to tell who the character(s) are dressed as just by looking at them. 3- Indicate copyrights for the characters and the costumes you use.

4- You can enter as many times as you like. All entries will be judged independently, regardless of how many entries you’ve submitted. However, you may not win more than one prize. Basically, entering more than once increases your chances to win, but not the amount that you’ll win.

5- Use any medium you want (digital, traditional, photography, mixed media, etc.) in whatever way you want, but let’s keep these entries within deviantART regulations, got it? Feel free to push the envelope, but pornography, racism, or anything of that sort will not be tolerated. If you have any questions about what may or may not be allowed, please don’t hesitate to ask. It never hurts to be safe.

6- Your entries will be judged on creativity and use of the theme. A panel of impartial judges will be chosen a week before the contest ends to sort out who wins.

7- Prizes: The first place winner will receive a year-long deviantART subscription and a three-character drawing. Second place gets a three-month deviantART subscription and a two-character drawing. Depending on the number of entries, there will be one or more runners-up, each of which will win a single-character drawing. Sound good?

8- Contest begins today, August 29th, and goes until Saturday, November 14th at midnight.
